Hello all. I am a complete newbie and I have just bought an Eglu from e-bay. However, I'm not sure if the run has to connect securely to the Eglu. Mine is just resting on top at the moment. Is there something I need to do?

Welcome to the forum Chickmagnet . Yes, it definitely needs to be attached to the eglu. You should have some bolts and washers that fit through the run and go into the holes in the top of the eglu.

The bolts and washers on the original Eglu were made of plastic, and broke as soon as you tried to take it apart.

 

I suspect that your seller never replaced them with metal ones, and so had none to give you. But they should have said.

 

Is it a Mark 1 or a Mark 2 Eglu? This won't affect the bolts, but you need to know what you have.

When you say you have it just sat on the eglu, is it on top of the coloured dome part, or sat between the dome and the grey shell? If the latter, it is in the right place, but as said above it does need to be bolted down.

thanks for the replies. I have investigated further and found the bolts, all present and correct. I just didn't look hard enough.
