mrsallen08 Posted August 14, 2008 Share Posted August 14, 2008 Hiya Well as some of my girls may be boys (See other topic - My hen sounds like a cockerel!) I have had a quick look round for some other hens in case they do not come home tonight from breeder! I have found some ex-batts who were freed only 2 months ago but now owner is downscaling birds from flock of 20 to just 5 that she can have in garden rather than fields! They are quite near to me and will be going for a look tomorrow but I am all eggcited now as these ones lay eggs! And after 3/4 months of chicken husbandry I have never had a fresh egg! Also breeder has a white sussex who has just had chicks and will be ready to lay again soon and he said he will give us her if current hens are cockerels! If your incomers have been in a big flock, I'm sure they'll appreciate all the tlc and individual attention (not to mention treats) coming their way.
