Guest
I'm going to Chelmsford on Sunday, bit nervous and excited it's a fair few years since my festival days. I'm going to meet up with a former pupil and her family/friends so I won't be on my own (I do go to concerts on my own) I havn't quite worked out how I'm getting there, its Sunday so I could park in town and get the free bus, or park there and pay a tenner as I didn't book in advance. If I park in town I could also go with my "friends" (I'm sure they all will be by the end of the day!). It seems so strange to be doing this kinda thing again at my age... deejmum
I wish i was.I have told my husband I would like to go to Glastonbury for my 40th next year I reckon my chances of that happening are Vsmall!!
Guest
I'm 40 next year too! I have my eye on a nice present, not from the (soon to be ex) husband though. Wonder if Mum and James want to save their pennies? Does seem strange to be heading out to a festival at my age.

I'd try and sort somthing but I'm going to be unattainable within an hour and know she's not home till tomorrow afternoon if you get really stuck for parking tho look at the estate opposite the primary school
Guest
That's no problem, I'm not really worried more uncertain! I understand a lot of the roads get blocked off and the police do you for parking. As it's Sunday though there are places in town where I usually park when shopping.
little chickadee
Have a great time Penguinmad. I've not been to a big festival like V or Glastonbury, but I adore the accoustic festivals we go to. Let us know the new artists you've discovered
lisa33
Have a great time Penguinmed. I've only been to V once but had a wicked time. Andyman and I are thinking of doing T in the Park next year and then doing a little tour round Scotland.

Shirl
We live in Writtle and yes there's no parking in the area of the school and a lot of the roads on that side of Writtle are closed to through traffic. We won't be going though. Have fun Pengie and anyone else that is going.
Guest
Yes the Kaiser Cheifs are one band I@m looking forward too. And Squeeze should be good. Amy Winehouse - if she's not dead...
hillfamily
Have a great time Pengy Never worry about being too old to do these things.......life is far too short I'm 40 next year as well and I'm thinking I must either go to a festival (never been to one) but secretly I really want to go to one of Dave Pearce's Trance nights in Ibiza
Guest
That trance thing sounds interesting... I wouldn't be going if it wasn't local - my days of sleeping rough in mud are over. To get me to camp would involve thumbscrews - sorry to all you camping addicts but it's my idea of hell on earth to live anywhere that small without room service! (Seriously - our first "stateroom" on QM2 was TINY, and as for last year on QE2 - think, one of you has to leave the room for the other to get ready). Mind you the forecast isn't great - it may be like sports day all over again..

Guest
Thats the same for me - V is about 10 mins away so I know loads of people going etc. Tickets turned out to be V easy to come by too - although they sold out quickly online you could go and buy in person if you lived locally. crazygal
hOpe you had a great time. We went to the Big Chill festival in Herefordshire a few weeks ago- ok it was only 30,000 people there but it was still amazing.
