quickcluck
My 6 girls have pretty much got through a sack of grub in 4 weeks, is this about right or am I over feeding? 3 are laying and I've notice that the food is going down more since they began..... Do they get more hungery once laying? Is it possible to over feed a chicken......
Ain't Nobody Here
That's probably about right. They do eat a lot more when they're laying.

Yolky
Mine seem to eat more than I thought they would. They say that the food in the grub should last 3 girls 2/3 days more like 1/2 for my girls. My 20kg bag looks like it will last just over 6 weeks.
Hen Watch
Sounds OK to me I've only got 4 girls and they can sometimes get through a sack a month. They won't overeat the pellets, they will just eat what they need. Mine have pellets available from morning 'till night.
Egluntyne
They do eat much more when they are laying. You can't really overfeed them and you are supposed to have pellets available all day so that they can help themselves on an ad lib basis. Their food shouldn't be rationed. quickcluck
Rest assured it's not!!! I Do take it in when they have gone to bed and it goes back before they get up as I am worried about Mr foxy trying to help himself.... I also wondered if it would get damp and yukky in our inclement weather!!!
