Angels4 Posted August 21, 2008 Share Posted August 21, 2008 I now know who had been laying all my wonderful, flavorful eggs. I sat and watched the girls all morning just waiting to see. M'Lynn went into the nest box and after being in there for what seemed an eternity came out into the run to join her sisters, and lo and behold an egg. When the girls first arrived I thought for sure Clairee would be the first to lay, as she appeared to be the oldest of the group. HENthusiastic Posted August 21, 2008 Share Posted August 21, 2008 Hiya. One of my hens started laying a good two and a half months after the other two! They were supposed to be the same age. Mind you, she only bothers with an egg every other day, or sometimes every third day! Bless her, such a character. There is too much mischif to be had for her, than to waste time with egg laying. jools+6 Posted August 21, 2008 Share Posted August 21, 2008 dipper still isn't laying and shows no sign . her comb wattles etc are tiny if non existant but it could happen ! i am not sending her back incase they murder her and have her for lunch !!! they stop and start with eggs , we sometimes have 5 other days 2 .....
