Couperwife
Well, I have just watched the closing ceremony and the British "mini welcome" or whatever it was called rather impressive on both counts only the British could have "whole lotta love" sung out of the top of a double decker bus it was quite interesting the things our presenter was saying though apparently there was only a small "chosen few" allowed into watch the games, not everyone was good enough there were many empty seats they had loads of parks and places for the "locals" to watch the different sports, but many of them were empty. Interesting I get the idea that our games are going to full to overflowing where ever the big screens are . cathy
susanbb
Missed the bit with the double decker bus. We watced the 2012 programme that followed. Michael Phelps is a tall lad.
Guest
I've done an AMAZING job of avoiding the Olympics completely. I have a plan to avoid them even more in 2012.... We are 10 mins from the Chelmsford park and ride. That is 5 mins into town, trains run from there to Stratford in about 30 mins. The Olympics are held in August. I am on holiday in August - I'm thinking house swap with an Aussie family for the whole of August 2012. Mum likes the idea of the house swap, for the whole month but not quite so keen on the Journey to Oz. I figure I have 2 years to persuade her to make the journey and start arranging the swap. Cate in NZ
I so wanted to see the Closing ceremony, but it was shown between 11pm and 2am last night...and I was in bed. And there's no further coverage scheduled...unless I can find it on a news programme or something. Bit sad really

theherd123
Boris, oh Boris, you are the only man who can turn up to a formal event with a terribly ill fitting suit, jacket unbuttoned, pants that are way too long and have your hands in your pockets? Hope this helps Thanks for the idea, but I can't get BBC iplayer, you need a UK IP address to access it, and if you try to use proxy servers it just goes so slow that it's impossible to watch . No Closing Ceremony footage to be had here today
