Dave36
Can someone tell me how this is done?? We have a nasty bit of feather pulling by the boss and she will not stop. I have put a bumper bit on her very awkward but i think i have done it wrong as it is sitting in the front of the nostrils in a little recess on the beak, I hear i think that it should be at the furthest point of the beak at the very back of the nostrils and theat i may have to push a bit hard and may have to pierce ,Like a membrane???? Also all the others are now pecking at her bumper bit and am concerned they may harm her....I have seperated her from the others for now ,Should i fit them all up with these Bits or not??? Please help Dave & Jo

Dave36
Thanks for your advise, but the pepperpots don't seem to have the hole in the nostril where the other chickens do, bit worried we have not put it on properley. She is not very happy about it but I suppose that is normal? We bought the little white bumper bits from The Domestic Fowl Trust, they are nothing like the ones you have showed us, what should we do? Thanks
Egluntyne
Aah....you have probably got anti peck rings. Like this: Are you sure they don't have the hole in the nostril? Why not get some bumpa bits. If you contact the **Wernlas Collection** they will send you some for the price of a couple of stamps.
Mumpty
Hi Dave and Jo, back from hols now. You need your books back to tell you what to do. Let me know when's best to get them back to you. I have heard of something you can spary on the birds to stop pecking and feather pulling. Don't know what it is, maybe someone here has a name or link for you. Egluntyne
There is anti peck spray, Bitter Beak or Ukadex, which is the most evil smelling substance.
