Electricbarbarella Posted August 28, 2008 Share Posted August 28, 2008 So I have taken to peices and scrubbed th cube, covered everything in lice and mite powder, changed all bedding, treated all the hens, s"Ooops, word censored!"[ed out all the aubiose from the run, moved the run and reseeded the grass where the run was. Do i need to do it all again tommorow and everyday till theyu are gone, or will they be dead now. Yolky Posted August 28, 2008 Share Posted August 28, 2008 EB do you have any diatomaceous earth? It is fab for lice and mites. It was something like £8 for a kg of the stuff so lasts ages. Once a week when doing the big clear out I put some under their wings and on their fluffy knickers...seems to be doing the trick but saying that after the threads today I am going to have a closer look tomorrow. You can also add the DE to their dust bath so they can cover themselves in it. I also put the DE at the edges of the roosting bars, in the nest box and also round the edge of the eggport (as I have read that this can be a place that the mites can hide). I ordered mine from flytesofancy.co.uk and it came the next day. You need a good cuppa and a big slice of cake for your busy day today.
