well i couldnt wait any longer and my taters are all up.

 

its the first time i have grown taters, they were in tubs and i am well pleased with my mini harvest.

They look fab Laura . Well done!! They will taste wonderful too! I love new potatoes. We dug another bagful yesterday so are having them for tea tonight, steamed and served with some butter. Mmmmmm.

What a great crop Laura, i dug mine up last week and they hadn't done very well I only got a few but they did taste lovely I just hope the main crop produce more spuds..............

WOW love the spuds!

All my potatoes have loads of leaves but have not yet flowered. Do you have to wait until they have flowered before you harvest them? They were 1st and 2nd earlies.

You could have a look at one plant of the first earlies - depends how small you like your new potatoes? Put the fork under them carefully and have a look - if they are far too small you should be able to pat it all back down and leave them to grow a bit more.

Mine are still flowering (desiree), but I am so tempted to reach into the sacks to see how they're cooking.
