Morag - who are you? You seem to know a lot about CofE rules and I am intrigued! Or just nosey!?

If you'd like to know who I am first, I am a Director of Music in an Anglican church and my husband is the organist. I have worked for the church in this way for 21 years.

[fourfinches]

Time to come clean. I am a vicar in the Cof E, not too far away from Phil. When I was training I was in a church just along the road from him. We met again recently through our chickens!

Hi Morag! Sorry if I put you on the spot It's lovely to meet you!

I know this will probably upset Phil, and I can see his point but the church needs to be more flexible if it is going to survive...

Discuss.

I can't see anything in there that even comes close to upsetting me, Helen! I couldn't agree more!

come on girl - you'll have to try much harder if you want to stand a chance of upsetting me!! (say something nice about cats or summat!)

(in fact - this is one of the very few discussions of baptism I've been involved in where somebody didn't storm off in a huff - "Ooops, word censored!"ody seems to

have been upset yet - which is remarkable!!)

all that - and we've OUTED Morag too!! - it's nice not being the only (known) clergy on the forum!!

Anyone been watching the Convent? Its fascinating - and I find myself shouting at the tv - always a good sign

I feel a competition coming on here

What is the collective noun for vicars

[Mel (& Paul)]

A collar of vicars

[Lesley-Jean]

A pulpit of clergy (could be cosy if there are lots of them)

[Mel (& Paul)]

A font of fathers (RC only )

I think gay, tabby cats should be allowed to be bishops.

Hi, I've really enjoyed reading this thread & was going to say how well informed you are Morag , then saw Ginette's question & answer.

I hoped we'd abandoned the very boring subject of the topic title.

But, may I just say......what a thug & an idiot. I've never thought we should idolise footballers (do not worship false idols) and in Rooney's case especially. Now he's proved it. What a P***

Red card for kick in the wotsits, in case you're not watching. England down to 10 men awith 25mins to go.

And I can hear (& Paul) shouting and using all sorts of UNSUITABLE language at the tv

[Mrs Frugal]

Ditto here (but not Paul obviously )!

[Mel (& Paul)]

[Sheilaz]

I can hear Paul from here! I'm watching it on my own, Shep & E would rather watch paint dry, and sons are viewing in hostelries.

[Mel (& Paul)]

I'll tell him to keep it down

*shouts through to lounge*

Oi (& Paul) give it a rest mate. Some of us are trying to have an intellectual discussion about football and religion (some may say its one and the same thing )

[Mrs Frugal]

Oh dear, we've got at least another half an hour of the ref being on the other team's side, decisions being wrong, near misses, head holding, cursing and tears to come !

[chocchick]

Is there a football match on?

Went on nice picnic with OH, now watching the Simpsons.

[Mel (& Paul)]

sounds lovely (not sure about the simpsons though)

[theherd123]

Tension mounts for the penalties!!

[Mrs Frugal]

Now that's the bit I like! Nothing like a bit of sudden death!!

[Mel (& Paul)]

:shockl: Unless it involves chickens

[Mel (& Paul)]
