I wear mine over my left shoulder, or over the right if the bag's across my body, but use a rucksack over both shoulders where possible! And I'm right handed, so I think its about holding the bag with my left hand so my right can delve in. And car seat belts are an issue too: but are brooch wearers most often drivers or passengers?!
