chelsea
do you know anyone with a caravan or camper van that they can park on your drive?
Lydia
Well it actually took the best part of 2 months but the kitchen should be all done and dusted today I am just a little hesitant as it was supposed to be finished last week.........but they can't break the granite worktop again........can they?? It's been umm.....fun holed up in the lounge with a toaster and a microwave since October. I managed to make and freeze 3 weeks worth of meals for 2 (then I ran out of freezer space!) which have just about lasted us through together with meals out, meals at friends etc. I have really really missed making bread (bought stuff just isn't the same) so intend to christen the kitchen by making a large batch of bread using my yummy smoked flour. Then I'll make some mince pies. Could be gone a while

Lydia
It's this stuff. I got it in Waitrose. I bought it before the work began but never got around to using it so it'll be a first for me too. I'll report back.....
Ain't Nobody Here
Congratulations on your new kitchen and surviving so long without it . Hope you've got before and after photos!
Lydia
I clearly jinxed it! They didn't break the worktops again. No........this time they failed to measure properly the first time around for the splash backs (and forgot an entire wall completely ) so some are too short and other too long. So we're still not finished. So no bread or mince pies got made It's not helped that hubby was up all night and is showing classic norovirus symptoms, so I don't think the table and chairs are going to be repatriated from the garage any time soon. Ho Hum. On the plus side I finally have a hob so can cook, amongst other things, eggs Tonight I made egg fried rice in celebration! The space itself is really good and will look fab when done. Photos will follow I promise.
