It's a shame but at least you didn't walk away and leave her to the hen vultures

That is a shame, you did your best for the poor little thing. I would have done the same, we've had this a couple of times with birds that Dave has caught, kept them in the shed over night and then looked in the morning. One survived and flew off and the other died, its very sad.

what a shame, but at least she died in comfort and peace, not picked on by a predator which is what would have happened if you'd left her outside. Well done for trying.

I'm so sorry, you did everything you could and bear in mind if you'd just left her she would have died out in the cold or worse, but you gave her a chance and made her warm and comfortable. I have had birds and mice my cat has brought in and always done exactly what you did - give them the best chance possible. I'm sending you a cyber hug as I know how upsetting it can be. Don't question if you did the right thing or not - you did. With all the horrible things you hear on the news it is good to know there are so many kind and caring people out there.
