Abbsie
My chicken has just been attacked by a fox, we managed to save her and calm her down but she is bleeding around around her bum area. The fox grabbed her in its mouth and ran to the end of the garden but dropped her when we went out there to see what was going on (they were all clucking). She ran down the garden and into the house! I know the fox is going to be back. Should I call the vet, will she be alright? Please help!!!
Mrs Frugal
If she's been bitten by a fox, she needs to see a vet, Abbsie, as foxes have teeth which are just teeming with bacteria and these can quickly cause a wound infection. Do you know of any vets in your area who treat chickens? Good luck with her.

chelsea
what a shock for you. A vet will probably give you some Baytril antibiotic, which will help the healing and prevent infection from the foxes nasty teeth. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. smanners
Hi There, So sorry to hear about the fox attack, its something we all dread! Rescue remedy can be bought at Boots chemist or most health food shops. I saw some today whilst buying Citracidal drops. They even have some specifically for animals as well as us humans! Good luck, hope your girl makes a speedy recovery. Sophie Rocky Mrs Doyle Helen
