Mumsvoice
Does anyone know what the going rate is for babysitting? Our new babysitter is our 16 year old male next door neighbour. My little boy is 2 and will hopefully be in bed sound asleep the whole time that the babysitter is here. what is a reasonable hourly / nightly rate? Sky sports and tea/biscuits will be supplied free !!!
Karen & co.
Hello My 16 year old son baby sits for my friends 10 yr old daughter and 3 year old son, and usually gets about £10, which I think is good as he gets most of the evening to watch television after the children are asleep. I tend to make sure I'm in when he sits incase there is a problem, as it would only take a few minutes to get there. The youngest has played him up a few times and then fallen out of bed whilst asleep, but last time he was asleep when he arrived and didn't wake up untill parents and daughter came home. Hope that helps? Karen x

Janepie33
My daughter gets £5 an hour, but usually plays with the children for a couple of hours and then puts them to bed and reads them a story.
chickencam
My ED has put out babysitting leaflets she is 15 on Friday, she was hoping for work over the summer but got no replies this may be because she was only 14. She was going to charge £5 per hour upto a maximum of £20 for an evening.
Christian
I used to babysit for 3 different families when I was at College. I charged £3 an hour way back then *mumbles, cough, 13 years ago*
