sandyhas3chucks
hi all, well my softee laing girl laid 2 lovely eggs all be it thin shelled followed by a softee followed by an almost good one, it was very thin shelled but very well gravelley rough spotted... I can't tell you how much extra stuff we are getting into her(lots), the others are all laying such lovely eggs now too. her pal is the Boss so I think although eating has no problems sge still is competing for all the best bits. She is fine well perky exept when a softee coming, but she does like to pop back to the nest for up to an hour often. She is often quite agitated to get there like she needs to lay. one ting have found is that she doesn't like the cod liver oil! and shes the one that really needs it. thought I may start weighing them give me somthing else to worry about
mostin
My priscilla was laying softies then she stopped altogether. When she started again they were really rough, sandpapery torpedos but after a few days they went back to normal eggs.

Mutrix Farmers
we went through a phase of softees and sandpaper shells with Henrietta, but she seems to be over it now and we get a normal egg every day from her, although they tend to be 5g lighter than those laid by Katie and Charlotte. Egluntyne
Maybe she need some Vit D so that she can utilise the calcium properly. Why not give her a dollop of cod liver oil, or ZolcalD and see if it helps?

sandyhas3chucks
I was wondering if I should take her to the vet. She is absoloutly fine in herself except when theres a softee on it's way! But... she is doing an awful lot of watery poohs? I do think though she is gaining some weight and is very well feathered now. Have I got this right, she needs certain D vits to help her absorb & utilise the calcium in food & Limestone flour, & if I could get her to have the food with cod liver oil in this would be in it. I will google D3 think, it is a bit lazy to relie on you for the answers. Ta for your patience
