chickweed
The feathers around Lil's bottom have been caked with faeces for a while...Yuk. I thnk I need to give a helping hand with her personal hygiene. Has anyone got a few ideas? Would awarm soak do any harm?
Guest
I wash Evangeline's bottom once in a while. Her knickers are just so frilly! I just use warm water and plain soap. I have even dried her with the hairdryer.
jomaxsmith
An alternative to washing that seems to work with my is to dust her frilly knickers with Diatom then she gives them a thorough preen and gets rid of the poo. If your girl is very daggy then a wash and light trim might be the only answer Jo
Egluntyne
A botty wash and feather trimevery so often is a good idea. I would also worm her.....just in case.
..lay a little egg for me
I read somewhere that a lice infestation can cause mucky knickers as the lice impede the feathers as they try to move out of the way prior to pooping!!! So, may be a good idea to check for lice at the same time as giving her a wash.
