can you take your chickens on the eurotunnel?

Recommended Posts

I'd love to get chickens but im worried about being away for a month over the summer and rely on family & friends. I hope its not a completely stupid question as im a bit of a newbie, but is there anyway you can take them on holidays with you?

thanks

(black white rabbit) bunny. (we like to keep it simple)

I shouldn't imagine so.....and don't forget that there are strict rules about transporting animals re food and water stops......unless you took them over night.

Will your holiday accommodation be suitable too, and will the owner be happy?

Will you have enough room in your car for your Eglu as well as your suitcases?

There is a heck of a lot to think about.

Have you thought about contacting one of the Chicken sitters listed on the forum?

Eglutine - yes yes and yes!

We have a MPV so it defintaely fits in and a house in France with plenty of land. and we only ever travel overnight as i also have kids who need water and sleep :-) Chicken sitter may have to do as its just a question of whether you can or not cross the channel!

Thanks for all your replies everyone - i'll give eurotunnel a ring and post my findings here!

What did they say??? Don't forget to tell us.

I assume no. The Eurotunnel website says “The Scheme” means the Scheme defined in “Pet Travel Scheme (Pilot Arrangement)(England) Order”. “Animal” means domestic pet cat or pet dog.
