stoice
Leaves are starting to fall quite readily in my garden so I scooped up a load into a trug with some weeds and some short grass cuttings (Was neatening up the edges of my borders) and chucked them in the chooks run. They went mad. Had a whale of a time sifting through the crunchy leaf litter for bugs and beasties washed down by the occasional worm and dandelion leaf. They really are funny to watch. Does anyone else have any enrichment ideas for their girls? They already get mixed corn and mealworms chucked about the place in the afternoons, a pecka block (ignored), they love to play apple or cabbage football and I often hang a corn cob or a cage of greens. Also when i put more straw or bedding in their run i now just dump it in in pile mixed with mealworms, they love to dig in it and find that they level it out for me! Charlie_uk
A basic but fun thing I do is hang some spaghetti over the bars of their run at different heights for them to reach/jump up and get, my chooks love it! Charlie x
