moomin
I was just finishing a routine course of Flubenvet for my girls yesterday, using the half-a- grape method and my greedy girl Skye managed to nick Bobbie's half grape. It was gone in a trice!! Do you think I should withdraw her eggs? The rest of the course she got the correct dosage, it was just on the one day she got the double-dose. Would it be too bigger risk not to withdraw, does anyone know what the effect of flubenvet is on humans? does it make you sick or something??!! Thanks guys
Old Speckled Hen
Flubendazole is used in the treatment of hydatid disease (ie a type of tapeworm), can be dosed up to 4grams per adult and there are no noticeable side effects. So I think you'd be safe with a one-off double pinch.
Chickaboo
I don't think it is systemic, as in it's not actually absorbed into the body, but just passes along the gut to kill the worms. So it should be fine.
abwsco
That's one reason I'm using the flubenvet in their feed from now on. It's far less stressful.

moomin
Thanks guys I had visions of poisoning my kids Normally I have it down to a fine art, I give them a grape each from my hand, rather than in a dish, so I know they've got one each. But she's such a greedy-guts. Her little pointy beak is faster than greased lightening!! Next time I'm gonna seperate them before I administer the medicine!
