Oh, that would help with more flexible options on where to site your hens too.

I'd like a small door on the hole into the nest box (cube) so I can block it off at night. t the moment I have to stick a flower pot in there.

Some roosting bars in the run would be a good add on too.

Alfred, I have always thought that using the Eglu run made it very difficult to get 'up close and personal' to your girls unless they free ranged a lot. I had one with 2 extensions - impossible to move easily on my odd shaped lawn and very heavy, so we gave up a built our own walk in run - more expense but I feel so much more able to interact with them when I can't let them out.

This would be a good thing for the Omlet guys to provide as an add on - have always thought this - maybe as there have been some good conversions to the Cube run someone will design one for the Eglu?

I have to admit that I have been tempted to cut a section out of the Eglu run for access to chickens and to rake the woodchip over and then put it back in place with cable ties for hinges and run clips to secure the rest of it but I am worried about compromising the sceurity of the run by cutting the wire.

i'm in total agreement with the 'hole in the run near the eglu' idea. at the moment i have to stick my hand through the egg hatch to clear the entrance of wood chipings in order to close the door properly at night.

sorry eglu guys.. it's a brilliant invention, i feel at bit cheeky suggesting improvements

I have a little hand sized dutch hoe that I got from one of the diy stores for doing this, its great and no mucky hands!
