kez
We have various bushes around the garden, but it's only the Forthysia that I see the jumping up at to grab the leaves - it's such a sight!
cordelia
we have some shrubs (planted by house builder)....and the chooks love settling under them..and then digging out all the forrest bark from underneath... we must have hundreds of slugs, so I assume they are looking for those, and I hope they get them..they ate all my corgettes !!!! woffle
They've picked the bottom branches of the garden hydrangea bare and have fashioned a perch in my wife's prized azalea, though they don't eat it. It's quite comic as it's only a little bush and our Light Sussex is a big old bird - there's something quite ridiculous about a large chicken trying to look dignified perched in a very small shrub... Sandychick
We have various bushes around the garden, but it's only the Forthysia that I see the jumping up at to grab the leaves - it's such a sight! Mine do this too. My Forthysia is bare for the first 3ft off the ground At this time of year I think the conifers are the most useful to them as they are evergreen and they dont eat them! It provides some good shelter and dry ground under them for dust baths
