Guest
I was in the local cheapy farm shop today to get some ingredients for yet more chutney! I was looking for goods in jars and bottles that I could recycle. I got cranberry sauce which was 3 for a pound - making the jars slightly cheaper than buying new in Lakeland - I might even find something to do with the cranberry sauce (add it to something else for an interesting jelly maybe??) I also got little 60ml bottles of olive oil at three for a pound - tiny tipple bottles to pop some of my home made spirits in and I can used the olive oil which I have decanted into my oil bottle. I also bought cider vinegar in 250ml bottles rather than buying a bigger bottle as again I can use the bottles. I'm thinking of going back to do a deal on a case of the cranberry sauce - they had about a million jars and they were very dirty on top like they haven't been selling. I reckon they would do an even better price if I offered to buy in bulk.
craftyhunnypie
Pengy, Morrison's do vegetables in jars. Petit Pois, carrots, french beans. All 39p / 35p a jar. Washed out, they are perfect for jam! Emma.x
Chook n Boo Mum
And our "friend" Mr Tesco is selling the most vile mint sauce in small jars at 9p each - believe me you do not feel guilty about dumping the contents straight in the toilet!! May just take a wander over to the food barn in Barnham to see what they have on offer... Sha x
