Mrs Nesbitt
Well when you own chickens (or any animal really) it has to happen at some point - found one of the chooks dead this morning . She was one of two chooks my neighbour gave me earlier in the summer (natural selection had left her with just two and, she as has decided to have a break from chicken keeping for a while, she donated them to my cause ) Nothing suspicious, just old age I think. She seemed to be slowing down a lot and I was expecting it every day really. Still, at least she had a happy life and got to free range lots once she came to me... Ain't Nobody Here
What a shame . Still, as you say, at least it was old age rather than illness or a nasty end and she'd had a good life.

CALNICK
we are sorry to hear about loretta, its a shame when you lose any animal but at least she died of old age rather than something else which would have caused you further worry. calnick
Guest
I lost one of my girls on Monday, it's so sad when they have to leave us but we have lovely memories to treasure, as I bet you do. Hopefully it brings you comfort to remember you gave her a good life and she was loved. Night, night Loretta xxx
