Palmer06
I work offshore for a living and its quite strange! I have been doing it for few years and never really been bothered about being away from home but now with the chickens its different! As soon as i got out here i wanted back, I had a chic at 5 weeks and growing was growing quick now he`s 8 weeks! (long time i missed) And My 6 others i am missing aswell! Seeing them first thing in the morn and last thing at night! I even asked the OH to send me pictures and she thought i was pulling her leg! Is it just me or do other people get quite attached? Ain't Nobody Here
Does your poor OH know that you weren't bothered about being away from home before but now you are because you miss your chickens . I don't think it is just you, I'm quite fond of my girlies too .
Topdollar
If it is sad then I'm sad too I have photo's of all my chooks on my phone so I can bore my work colleagues. I've also turned into a really good night out with people that haven't met me being warned not to mention the chickens hehe

Hen Watch
I miss mine when I'm on hols. We were away last week for half term in France and my sister looks after them. I checked my phone every day for texts - not worried about someone breaking into the house - but in case there was a problem with the chickens. Came home, and went straight out to see them instead of unpacking the car. V sad...

Charlie_uk
when my mum goes away and she calls home the first thing she asks is "hows the chickens? then its hows the dogs? by the end of the call she might have remembered to ask how the rest of us are!! Chook n Boo Mum
DS is at boarding school & above his bed is a picture of each of the dogs and one each of us two legged family, and on his mobile he had a selection of chook pics - I say had, because his phone was dropped in a puddle by one of the other boys & is still drying out, we have yet to see if it's damaged beyond repair ! One of the first questions he asks whenever he rings home is about the dogs or chooks & the second is the other set - love him !! Once he's been mauled by the hairy creatures on his return he goes straight out to see the feathered ones. So in answer to your question; sad - no; terminal - yes!!
