skinny chickens!

Recommended Posts

 Hello all this is my first posting so hope it is ok.I have 3 25 week old girls, all of whom are skin and bone, but bright and perky in themselves. They have a few sniffles and are on baytril due to a slight rattle in the lungs but are eating very well, but not many pellets. They were wormed a couple of weeks ago, poos are all fine.

Any one have experience of this? help with weight gain would be welcome as would a possible cause!!

Thank You all

I have 3 chickens that we got at the same time, all initially around the same size, but now 2 are nice and plump and normal and one is very skinny. theyre all on the same diet, and the skinny one is top of the pecking order so she gets her share of food. shes just a skinny minny for some random reason - maybe more active than the others? but yeah ill post a picture some point because the difference in size is shocking!!

:D Good Morning!!

Thanks for the replies, yes the two goldlines came into lay 2-3 weeks ago and the black star is not yet laying, but is a bit younger!

I have noticed today they are a bit hungrier than they have been for their mashed up pellets with water that I give first thing.Maybe the Baytril is kicking in and they are feeling better after the sniffles!

Its frustrating to find two eggs as well that we can,t eat.

Regards Emma.

I have two fatty bum bums and one skinny minny too. The skinny one is bottom chook (I think, she does seem to eat last)
