callyfc
Has anyone else found that their girls are eating more in the cold weather??? In the summer a full Grub lasted 2+ days, now they are emptying it almost daily, they seem to be starving. Also when they arrived in the summer they turned their noses up at all sorts of treats, even grapes. Now they gobble anything down as if they have never seen food before. Is it just that they are getting older , or do they need more food to stay warm ???? any ideas. C x
Egluntyne
A bit of both I think. They eat much more once they start laying, that is for sure.
miffy
YES!!! I have twice gone to close the girls up for the night to find the grub empty!!! This was despite having checked their food juat after 5pm, which I do everyday I have been feeling very guilty

mostin
I came out to an empty grub this morning and some and some very reproachful looks . That's never happened before. They are very hungry girls at the moment.
dancing cloud
My little monsters are more hungry than usual too. They'd eaten all their porridge by lunchtime today and were making big inroads into their pellets - hope they're going to turn all that extra food into feathers to keep them warm
Milly
Yes! Pellets last for ever in the summer, but disappear alarmingly fast in the winter. Milly
