My hisband has finally agreed I can keep them in my garden.... My other chickens are kept in a friends garden. We have half shares on them but these will be living here with me. Egluntyne
I'm guessing your nearest rescue centre will be at Haslingden.
sandyhas3chucks
ther's also Little Hen Rescue... tyhink that is the name, but I understand lots of farmers are getting good price for eggs pre Christmas & aren't releasing at the moment. contact them, there may be some that couldn't be homed last time that are ready now! poachedegg
I'm on the list for getting ex-batts with BHWT and Egluntine is correct, Haslingden is our nearest. They are actually having a rehome this weekend, however our eglu isn't here until next Friday. The next date is going to be January however that has not been confirmed yet. If you are interested you need to complete and submit the form on the BHWT website and then ring the area co ordinator (Adele Hall). Hope that helps. Tweety
I live in Bowdon, and I got my ex batts from Adele at Haslingden - her contact details are on the BHWT website. I got an email from her this week to say that she had some hens available this weekend so it might be worth calling or emailing her to ask if there are still any that don't have homes to go to. If not, she will put you on her waiting list.

blackgold
I am now on the waiting list for January.... i am going to get a couple of bantams until them. The eglu has an extention so should have enough space. We have an extention on our cube as well so the bantams can allways go and live at my friends house when the bantams arrive if they dont get on. We introduced 2 faverolles to our exsisting 5 with only a few squabbles.I just cant live with an empty eglu until January.........
