ruth1
I was having a good look over the banties today and for the first time had a good look at their feet, and noticed this on one of them Not the greatest pic trying to hold chook in one hand and photo with the other. When I saw the dark curving Nail on both feet, I thought im sure thats a spur but their both meant to be girls The other one doesnt have them. what do you think? This is the bantie in question Both Banties, questionable one in front( I think). they both look the same to me Any ideas folks?

Egluntyne
Can't tell what we are meant to be looking at amid that explosion of feathers. Not easy to photograph a chicken one handed, I admit. 'B' below is a spur.

ruth1
Cheers, I think your right and its not a spur and more like a dew claw type thing, I didnt think she looked like a boy, just the claw thing worried me. They are so fluffy its practically impossible to see anything.

Lewis
We had these on the bantams at the farm I used to work at. We had nail clippers and cut them down (to stop them getting caught and damaged), don't cut them too short or you could cut the quick. If you hold them up to the light, sometimes you can see the blood vessels.
