Has anyone tried growing veg using Aeroponics?

 

It is a variation on Hydroponics but the plant roots are sprayed or misted rather than submerged.

 

I saw this and thought it might be a nice addition to the kitchen.

It is very pricey though especially for the seeds and stuff, so I think I'll have a go at a DIY version, there seem to be plenty of plans available on tinterweb. Using both aquarium pumps or pond fog producing wotsits.

 

I like the idea of some home grown tomatoes and herbs all year round.

My friend has a herb aerogarden, she loves it and things do seem to grow well in it.

 

Takes up a fair amount of room though

I saw those, too, and like the idea of them... but so £expensive! Out of the kindness of my heart, I will allow you to buy one for me and I'll test it for you? A brilliant offer, I think you'll agree!

I have bought all the bits and bobs to build my own, I'll probably put it all together at the weekend.

 

It cost about the same as the Aerogarden only with a much better quality light

 

There is of course no guarantee that it will work as well, but what the heck

 

I will post some pics when I get round to setting it up.
