TheK9s
OK so I've just been outside and made it all lovely. I've put a lovely deep layer of sawdust (I'll switch to easi-bed or the like once I've finished the current bale of shavings we already have for the rodents) in the house bit and in the nest boxes and I've made some... don't laugh... nests out of straw. Proper easter style nests!! . I want it to be all nice for them. If you could buy soft furnishings for chickens I suspect I'd be buying them! Do I need to do anything else to the house to make it OK for them?
dancing cloud
A quick dusting of red mite powder and/or diatomaceous earth, just in case they bring any little "friends" with them and it sounds like you're all set. You'd be welcome to come and make my house a home any time you like
Ain't Nobody Here
Sounds lovely and cosy already . Don't know what your poop tray arrangement is, but I find a couple of sheets of newspaper make the poop a lot easier to remove!
atsw
You'll need a camera at the ready, and don't plan to do anything else for at least 48hrs after arrival. This is because you'll spend all that time staring out of the window at them, or worse still sat out in the garden on a deckchair with a warm coat and a flask of hot chocolate to hand! helenmb
A few little treats to hand would be good too so you can encourage them near you as they may well be a bit scared until the get used to their new surroundings. I use mealworms but mixed corn or raisins are good too. Enjoy your HenTV
