Cinnamon
OK, I admit it,I am bored sat at home waiting for a delivery. The house is tidy, chickens fed & supper made....................... So I thought I would share some tips for future movies with you I saw the trailers for some of these at the movies last week,& think they look like corkers AUSTRALIA - By Baz Luhrmann, satrring Nicole Kidman & Hugh Jackman. This looks like s proper epic, & is directed by my favourite film maker,Baz Lurhmann. It will be interesting to see how he manages a movie like this,so different from Moulin Rouge & Romeo+Juliet The scenery looks stunning. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0455824 THE BOAT THAT ROCKED Starring Bill Nighy,Rhys Ifans & Gemma Areteton This is about an illegal radio station on a ship in the north seas in the '60s. Its by Richard Curtis who is fantastic, & looks like it will be brilliant http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1131729/ THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL Starring Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly & John Cleese A remake of the 50s classic, this is looking like a proper blockbuster.Woth going to see for the divine Keanu alone http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0970416/ SEVEN POUNDS starring Will Smith & Woody harrelson. This looks great. Its the story of an IRS agent who,in a bid to undo the wrongs he has done in his life, changes the lives of 7 complete strangers. A real feel good movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0814314/ Oh, & theres the new Harry Potter too

AMS
I saw Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire whilst on holiday last week. It is the best film I have seen this year but it is not released in the UK until 23 January. http://www.foxsearchlight.com/slumdogmillionaire/ Ax

jlo
I rarely get to the cinema but some of these look good. I met Richard Curtis last week when I was up in Newcastle and he was really sweet. IMO he is an absolute comic genius but very unassuming in real life. Cinnamon - I am afraid that I can't agree with you about Keanu Reeves. Probably just me but he doesn't do it for me! Guest
I remember the original 'The Day the earth stood still' Michael Rennie wasn't it? (she says without googling), we saw him in some dinosaur film the other day with Claude Rains, anyway.....yes, I think we're going to see that one. I think it's one of those you have to see on the big screen because of the special effects. I'm looking forward to it, just hope the cinema isn't too full
