Omletina Kyckling
What a performance! I've just been watching Tiina from the house and she was in the Eglu nest box for quite a while, and looking out of the door to see what was going on...she was throwing straw over her back so I thought....this is it!! She's been crouching for the past few weeks and has become very pally (think stalker chicken!) Anyway, she came out so I dashed out to have a look, nothing there so came back in... Minutes later, she was having a drink, then a few pellets and she kept half crouching, like she was constipated...I was watching from the house and could see something white at her rear end, then out it popped, a perfect white egg!! They all started looking at it with interest so I dashed down the garden, and opened the door and whipped it out. I've now put a ping pong ball in the nest box in the hope she'll get the message to lay the next one there!! Here it is in all its glory! I'm such a proud mum yet again!! The Dogmother
Only a few I'm stil waiting for my newish white egg layer to produce she's far more interested in doing roadrunner impressions than laying eggs.
chooklady
Only a few I'm stil waiting for my newish white egg layer to produce she's far more interested in doing roadrunner impressions than laying eggs. My blue one is like that, dashes round the garden looking quite demented. Congratulations on the white egg, it looks lovely.
beach chick
white eggs are so beautiful arent they? and it amazes me how such a small/sleek bird (like our Sugar the leghorn) produces such relatively big eggs for her size!!
