Matthew
I've been away for a week or so with work and just read this thread. I'm very sorry for you horrific ordeal and loss but glad that you've come through this with a possitive ending. I wish you both a very merry christmas and good luck with your new girls. Jon Stevi is a bluebelle Masch is an Amber Lee Kate wasn't up to getting a Bovan Goldline just yet We buried Momo in the garden and planted a standard rose above her.. as a memorial to Momo and Kate's grandfather who passed away recently Thanks again for all your kind words... it really helped Kate. Unfortunately the RSPCA are unable to prosecute due to lack of evidence
The Dogmother
'lack of evidence'?.... what more evidence do they need? Sorry, but this just strengthens my opinion that the RSPCA are useless. Any luck with the police? Glad to hear that the new girls are settling in Matthew

Matthew
Good grief. I hope the police won't be so spineless. The RSPCA will only take on the prosecution if there is police confirmation that there is sufficient evidence. They then take the case over from the CPS, very rarely do they do otherwise... ..unfortunately that is the way it is and no amount of postings on here will make any difference so I'd appreciate it however strong anyone feels that they refrain from venting on this thread.... ...I have nothing but praise for how the school have behaved in all of this, they could not have done anymore to be honest and it was sincere and genuine concern... Matthew, I feel so sorry for your situation, as does everyone on here and we're all probably very upset as we're imagining how we'd feel in your place. Speaking for myself, I'm sorry if my "venting" has upset you. It is a public forum though and we're all entitled to our opinion so go easy on us eh, we're all on your side

Sheilaz
Best of luck with your new hens Matthew. I hope that with time you can put this unhappy incident behind you and enjoy the experience of keeping chickens again. I'm sure we all echo these thoughts Matthew. Thank you for the updates, it's good that the school were caring & responsive, and that you have behaved with dignity throughout. Perhaps it's time to lock this topic, but please do pm a mod. if you feel differently Matthew. Meanwhile, we wish you all the best, do keep us posted about Xabi (Alonso) & your new hens, when work permits. edit; just adding a message from Matthew... .....If someone could post that my comments were not any way meant as criticism of any posts. I post regularly on a liverpool football forum so fully appreciate the public nature of these sites, but that Kate and I wanted to draw a line and move on, we have are genuinely touched by all the heartfelt comments and best wishes we have received
