Mud Mud not so glorious Mud

Recommended Posts

we have moved our eglu with extesion onto the patio.

The garden is so wet and muddy it was dangerous going up to the eglu. Worried about MiL falling over. However it does mean she now agrees they need a solid, permanant base.

have emailed Aviaies 4 you for a quote. YS was going to build one but as Weldmesh is £44 for 3ft by 12ft it may be just as well to order one. Shocked at the price of paving slabs, doesnt sound much £2.30 each till you work out how many you need. Will keep eye on local paper for seconhand ones.

Have you tried Freecycle? we get them on ours sometimes, of course they may not match or be the same size but, they are free and that is always good. :D

mmmm looked at freecycle, worked my way through registering and so on, only to be told I need to 'prove' I was after stuff for the right reasons by explaining why I wanted to join and then wait to see if I was approved or not, I gave up in disgust at that point!!

If you go to a utility company ie road works they normally have loads of proper strong galvinised steel wire sheets there throwing away because there broken and they cant use them.My husband brought loads home for our run.Even if you offered them some money being that there going to throw it away they will bite your hand of.Trust me its fox proof too.Ive been very lucky as he has brought every thing home from work even the wood. But l agree when you add it all up its OMG :wall: Best of luck and let us know how it all gose.
