Guest
I was just wondering why my hands are killing me and then I remembered; after screwing the lids onto 32 jars, zesting 24 lemons (and juicing some of them) and cracking 48 eggs no wonder! anyway, thought I'd just share that We had my dad's ashes placed in the garden of rememberance yesterday and I noticed what a pleasant green space the cemetry actually is! It's a lot bigger than I thought too. We went back today and hung some bird seed hangers in the tree near my dad and scattered some nuts for the birds and squirrels. We're going to keep going back and feeding the wildlife, as my dad always used to in his garden and he would like that I asked my mum if she thought there might be any elder trees or other items of forage worthiness in the cemetry and she just said "ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweuuuuuuuuurrrrgh" What's wrong with that !!????? Ain't Nobody Here
Oooh, Poet, you are awful (but I like you ). I get sore palms from unscrewing one stiff jar, so can't imagine how yours feel . I'm glad you have somewhere lovely to visit your dad - I think feeding the wildlife is a fantastic idea. I'm sure he'd have loved it . Re your mum, is she thinking of what has been nourishing these trees, perchance ?
Guest
...Re your mum, is she thinking of what has been nourishing these trees, perchance ? quite probably but I wonder if she thinks on the same lines when she's scoffing the blackberry jam I make her. I wonder where she thinks the wild things go to die! I read somewhere about someone keeping goats in a graveyard, I think that's a brilliant idea I saw some wild garlic growing in a graveyard in Grassmere once. Wild garlic likes damp places. I'll have to keep an eye out for it but it's okay, mum hates garlic anyway!

Rhapsody
My husband does the screwing in my house, I could do it but I find he is better at it and it makes him feel manly to do such tasks for me.
