did my first cube proper clean yesterday - all I can say is, WOW! compared with doing 2 eglus, it is so much easier, mostly because there is no heavy lifting involved, and because the structure itself is higher up.

in the time it would have taken me to do 2 eglus, I did the cube (removed poo trays and roosting bars and nest box divider and the back and eggport doors), hosed it all out, scrubbed it down, left it to drain, dried it and put it all back together, new easibed, newspaper etc. then I even managed to roll the hose up properly and put the cover back on the kids' above ground swimming pool.

 

I call that a RESULT!

I find it much easier to clean the cube. I enlist the help of some child labour for the eglu.

Sorry dont understand where the swimming pool came in. Did you rinse the cube or chickens in it?

yup, I've taught them to swim... they're quite good at breaststroke now

I too find the cube much easier to clean than the eglu, as there's no grovelling involved, but they both come up really well after a blast with the jetwash. I'm always grateful for scrubbable plastic when it comes to the cleaning

I have just upgraded from a lovely wooden house to a cube and find it so much easier.

 

It has cut down the time spent in the morning and the evening routine is also much easier. Then I cleaned out the trays and was almost whooping with delight- so much easier!

 

I can move it on my own without having to get up at 6am so I can have help moving it around the garden.(Husband is a gym freak who leaves at 6 to go to the gym before work)

 

I am delighted and even hubbie feels cost was justified which has to be a huge result! Chooks are wandering around like royalty and I get a lie in.
