Martin B
I'm attempting to make some strawberry jam tomorrow, but I was wondering how long it will keep fresh for? ---Martin---
Mrs Frugal
Depending on how you make it and seal it, it should keep for well over a year. We're still eating last year's batch of strawberry jam which was sealed using waxed circles and screw on lids. The quick freezer jams (I think that's what they're called!) won't keep long at all but if you do it the traditional way in a big pan and boil it at 105C for as long as the recipe states, it should keep for a good time. Good luck. Let us know how it goes. My strawberry jam never sets well but I quite like it set softly!

Martin B
I was planning on putting the jam in washed jam jars from previous use is this ok?
Lesley-Jean
Put your clean empty jars in a hot oven for about 10 mins to sterilise them before potting your jam

ubereglu
I agree with what Lesley-Jean and Clare are saying. If you're unsure about how to make it I'll ask my Dad for instructions. Just let me know! He makes lovely jam!!! In lots of flavours-depending on what fruit we can get hold of! My sisters and brother whenever they're down steal jars along with eggs!
