jenuk99
Hi I am looking for some advice, I have had Mac since April and she is a netherland dwarf. She is now 10 months and has been spayed. She is a house rabbit and I have just built her a new house which has lots of space (will try to add pics). I am thinking about getting her a companion and have been told that a little boy would be best. I have looked in the adoption centre at my local pets at home but they don't have any boys. Does anyone know of any rescue centres in the manchester area I am struggling to find any near by that have rabbits. Also do you have any advice on bonding them I am looking for them to eventually live together and not be in seperate cages. Thanks Jen
bellekatz
You could try here? http://www.s-a-a.co.uk/animals/animals.php?type=Rabbit They are by the canal in Sale next to the M60. I se to clean the cats out there years ago and they always had rabbits. Good luck with your search!

cathybc
good luck in finding a bunny, there will be lots looking for a nice home. I used to volunteer at the SAA in Sale too, and have had six bunnies from them. I am sure wherever you get your bun from will give you ideas about bonding; I have put the new bunny in the existing bunnie's space but inside another run. That way they can get used to each other without hurting each other. And after a bit you swop them round so 'their' territory smells of the other one. I did have lots of space when I did this, one pair had the run of the spare bedroom and the others have a large shed. It did take some time (months in one case - Mary had been bullied by several other bunnies so was very scared). But it is so worth it to see her cuddling up now
Willow_Warren
As someone had said, rabbit rehome has a lot of rescues and rabbits listed. Some rescue centres will start the bonding off for you, the one I got my girl rabbit from did that. I left my boy rabbit with them for a few days whilst the introductions were done. Certainly look into getting one from a rescue. Hannah
FruitandNutCake
I lost my female rabbit 2 months ago unfortunately (she was a rescue bunny) but my son was so devistated by her loss that I went out and got another female baby (about 11 weeks old). However, whereas my male Bugsy bonded with Steffi (1st rescue bunnie) straight away - this time he is refusing to bond with Chloe (it has been two over months) and he is still attacking her through the run and ripping fur out. They are still kept indoors, next to each other but not together. I'm not sure if they will ever get on, and was wondering whether to get another female bunny to keep Chloe company, and keep Bugsy on his own. The Dogmother
Some rescue centres will do the bonding for you if you don't mind letting them have your bunny for a few days.
