Just been to see it with Devon, as we have both just read the book.

 

It was a really enjoyable movie, & very true to the book. Lots of lingering teenage glances & barely kept in check emotions...all good stuff!

The baseball scene was especially good, & they used my favourite Muse track in it too, which was fab.

We are thinking about seeing this tomorrow night. My ED has read all the books and raves about them.

 

The film is a 12A I believe, how would you rate it for a 10 year old to see because we would like to go as a family?

Well, I would have been more than happy for a 10 year old of mine to see it.

There was no real gore, nothing too scarey - certainly no more than Harry Potter,say.

All the relationship tension was implied,so will probably go oer a 10 year olds head

My ED, YD and I went to see this last night - the girls love the books but I haven't read them. I loved the film as it was and my daughters loved the film because they were true to the books for the most part, particularly in the dialogue. Lots of teenage smouldering, really beautifully acted and it was nice that it wasn't overly 'Hollywood': much more small town USA. I'm now reading the first book and can see what my girls meant.

 

I heard that it was a 'chick flick' so didn't take my lads, but they would have loved it!

YD just downloaded the sound track from itunes - it's all pretty good!

I would reccomend the books and the movie! They are both brilliant!

I am now torn between seeing Twilight or the Circus of Horrors at our local Palladium... This is my first date with my hubby- that we never got around too....

Immy watched it on Boxing Day & enjoyed it, but she said that she actually preferred the book. I've not read the books nor watched the film I'm sorry to say, I'm planning on reading the books as soon as I can find the time.

I saw it very soon after it came out it was brilliant! I haven't read the book but I thought that I'd buy it with the £10 WHSmiths cart i got for Christmas.

 

I'm going to seee it again with a friend on friday who couldn't see it the first time around and who wants me to come with her

I went to watch this today and quite enjoyed it. DD thinks that I am odd because I appreciate that "Edward" is a good looking lad. "Mum, he could be your son!" ....True

 

I didn't realise that there were other books in the series so I may have to read them.

 

The only gripe was that, although the cinema was really quite empty, it was quite the noisiest film that I have ever had to sit through. I did turn round and ask the people behing us why they had bothered paying good money to see a film that they were going to talk all the way through. I got a muttered expletive back at me but it really spoiled the film for me. People can be so selfish

I didn't mind so much but they KEPT ON LOUDLY saying what would happen next, which is really not on.

 

There is a lot to be said for going durng the school week at lunchtime
