4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Ruby my daughters' pekin who is still to come into lay. was rather unsteady on her feet this morning

 

I've checked her over and can't see anything wrong with her legs, when I brought her in she seemed to perk up a little and went for a wander around the kitchen but occasionally stumbled backwards a little She is eating and drinking as usual, but I wondered if anyone had any ideas what may have caused this

Oh no No idea, I'm afraid, but I have heard people mention ear infections when their chooks go wobbly

Yeah, my aunts chicken had this, ears are used for balance so when they get an ear infection they go all wobbly

Thank you for the replies, she is no better this morning, I tried our vet yesterday, but the one on call isn't very good with birds so I'll be straight down there on Monday morning, good job I'm supposed to be on an inset

 

It's horrible to see her so unsteady

Well Ruby has been to the vets and had antibiotics, x-rays, and a calcuim injection, and appeared to be at deaths door after days of thinking she wasn't going to make it through the night Ruby has tonight taken a few steps

 

I gave her some metacam earlier on along with her antibiotics, my daughter and I have been taking it in turns to syringe water and honey into her, OH even nipped home in his lunch break to check on her and to give her a drink

 

I'm hoping this isn't the calm before the storm, where she picks up before getting worse

 

Please keep your fingers crossed for her

Bless her she has spent the day in a plastic box in te garden room, eating more than yesterday Fingers crossed she carries on like this

Thinking about it it sounds like she may have had a stroke-Henrietta got to be a bit like this before we had do the deed.
