4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

well it all started with a plan of having 3 girls, all of then "GNRs" so we ordered our cube, and set it up.

The following weekend we trotted off to "peartree farm poultry" and ended up getting 5 birds, 2 , a cream legbar and 2 cochins. they looked a bit cramped in the run, but seeing as they got to free range most days that wasnt much of a problem.

 

For Xmas we bought them an 1 metre extension.

 

Along with a lovely clear tarp. so we could see them, but they stayed dry.

 

In the new year we decided that we wanted some more girls, Jo really wanted a Salmon Faverolles. But we thought that the run wasnt big enough so iI set to work on a walk in extenstion. that added another 2.5 x 2 metres to our run.

 

so now it looks like this.

And a fab job you did too! It's so nice being to walk in to the run to see the girls - makes cleaning the cube run out much easier too

Can I ask where you got the Tarp from please? I need something for my two runs, I was going to get a couple of shower curtains but, I like the look of your cover.

I got it from eBay... think it was around £20 including postage

 

If I recall I just did a search on 'clear tarpaulin'.

its amazing that once these chooks enter our lives they take over somewhat!

 

Nearly everyone expands.....you can never have enough chickens!

It looks fantastic. I love the orange cube ( and I normally hate the colour orange).

 

I just need to persuade the OH. The door fell off the wooden run today Needless to say I delved into my nice new tool kit and promptly fixed it ( well kind off the door was so swollen with the rain I had to kick it as well)

We're trying to decide whether to get an extension for our so we can make the girls more comfortable or whether to build a walk in run instead. Hadn't thought about both together.

We are planning to move next year (hopefully) so didn't want to do anything too grand that wouldn't be able to move with us.. the new wooden extension is actually panels/door from an old ferret court (I used to take in unwanted ferrets and had 34 at one stage!).. now down to 10 and funnily enough they are housed a chicken coop now!

 

When we move the plan is to have a large walk in run and the cube (possibly two )
