Sore Knee

Recommended Posts

Someone had a bad knee on this forum and I have been struggling since last year at this time with mine and have been told its a touch of arthritis -well if this is a touch I dread to think what the full blown stuff will be and I am wondering what to try next - I have had acupuncture which did not give relief for long and the dreaded pain killers give their own problems with stomach. :x:x:x

Any ideas

My YD who is 9 has a sore knee. It was all swollen so we went to the docs, had a blood test (no infection *phew*) and the doc reckons its childhood rhuematisim! I wasn't even aware that kids could get it. Anyway, not sure what to suggest to you, but she is taking ibuprofen which helps with inflammation and pain relief. Also, my hubby gets sore ankles and swears by cold liver oil capsules as when he is taking them he has no pain what so ever.

I had forgotton I had some deep heat so will try that one again - I cannot take ibruprofin due to an allergy and aspirin related things are out too. I must admit I am ashamed to be complaining when your YD bluekarin has rheumatism - I have just had more bloods taken so will see what turns up on them. Meanwhile I have trouble with stairs.

Please don't be ashamed! I only mentioned it to mention what she was taking to help. Also, kids are more likely to grow out of it, that if you have it adulthood. Thats a shame your allergic to ibuprofen. I too can't take asprin as it gives me a poorly tum. Have you tried a tubigrip on your sore knee? It might make it feel a bit more supported.

My mum has trouble with arthritis but also with a dodgy tummy if she takes certain painkillers. Have you tried some cod liver oil and glucosamine (sp?). She has also tried green lipped muscle tablets. Also one of the supplements that the company I get my evening primrose from says that turmeric is supposed to be good for joint pain.

I'm beginning to get k"Ooops, word censored!"bly lumps on my fingers like my mum so I'm starting with the cod liver oil/glucosamine and hoping for the best.

I hope your knee settles down and that bluekarin's daughter's knee gets better. Such a horrible thing to happen to a young child.
