how about persuading him that each hen is laying alternate days, so although its only 1 a day, all are laying ?

Don't worry, I'm sure I'll get round him once we have two laying and therefore don't have anywhere to show off the eggs.... Chive laid her second this morning, so I enjoyed the best ever two-egg omlette for lunch

 

None of the others are crouching yet, but Cori's comb has doubled in size this week and Cinnamon has found her voice, so it appears to be a two-chook race. (Chilli has decided to moult instead!)

I bought myself the twirly egg rack (can't remember the name). Only got it 2 days ago just to discover the eggs my hens lay drop right through it! How disappointing. I'd be interested to know whether you think the egg skelter will take them? They presently weigh 50g - hope they get bigger though!

 

If you think they do, do you think Omlet would swap it?

If you have large fowl hens, rather than bantams, then they will get bigger and the eggskelter will be fine.
