xeno 200 questions please

Recommended Posts

HOwdy,

Ive just been reading all about using xeno 200 against lice. Ive just got a couple of questions I couldn't find the answers to, if anybody can help.

Firstly, I can see a large clump of lice eggs on Anitas knicker feathers. SHould I just leave this alone, or try to manually pick it off :vom:

Other thing is..... how quickly is the xeno supposed to work. I'm never very happy just giving one dose, I dont quite believe it can be enough! How soon should I be able to check my girls and not see any creepys.

Thanks in advance. :D

Edited to add: Is one doseage of xeno also enough for use as a wormer please?

I was advised to use it twice.....with the doses a week apart.

I did tidy up the girls knickers, but only because I thought they would be uncomfortable. :D

*Xeno 200 is not licensed for use on poultry in UK .

Strictly speaking there is an egg withdrawal period during treatment and for one week after.

I personally don't bother as the active ingredient (Ivermectin) is used to treat humans with parasite infestations in the third world.

However, I don't sell or give the eggs away during this time.

Hi Egluntine. Thanks for the advice. I will spray everybody again in a weeks time then. Id read about egg withdrawal on various other posts and I'm happy to ingest a bit of wormer!

I'll also have a further investigate of anitas knickers and see if I can remove the eggs :vom:

Ive just had a good morn, liming the entire garden and spraying with a disinfectant. Hopefully that will do the trick.

DO you know if they will now be wormed as well? Or should I do that in addition.

Prevents and treats common internal and external parasites of rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents, ferrets, birds and reptiles.
From **here**. Scroll through for further info.

However, as * Xeno 200 is not licensed for use in poultry in UK, the info cannot be taken to refer to hens.

I always sue Flubenvet to be sure that the hens are wormed, to be on the safe side.....but I don't use it at the same time as the Xeno2oo

have fun sorting out anita's knickers :lol:

cant get them off! The eggs that is, not anitas knickers  the little vermin must have come armed with mini tubes of super glue! Ive decided to leave them. Anita was getting seriously cross with me rummaging around in there!

I weighed my girls in at an average of 2kg each, which I worked out as being 10 squirts. Oh, and I had about a total of 5 squirts in the face when they shook their heads too enthusiastically!:lol:

No sign of any bliters today that I could see. :)
