4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hi all.

 

I'm just wondering if my diagnosis is right! One of our new hens, Pecks, dropped this amazingly yellow, foamy poo.

 

 

I looked on the forum that has a list of all poos and it looks to me like it could be a Caecal one... would you agree? (Sorry for the blurry pic btw)

 

No other symptoms, eating and drinking well, seems ok in herself etc.

I saw a couple of those yellow ones in our garden today - I'd say clearout poo, definitely!

Every 10th poo or so is a caecal one and looks like chip shop curry sauce.

 

And if you ever tread it into the house you will know about it.

One of my girls did one of those yesteday about a foot from me as I was cleaning the run out I can honestly say Ive not smelt anything like it. Thank goodness

What surprised me was the fact I hadn't seen any like it before but then looking at that list of poos the caecal ones can even look normal so that explains that. (I'm such a newbie hehe) And it was a bit whiffy, Thanks everyone for reassuring me.

So long as the hen is only doing them once in a while, it's OK. Constant poos like that need investigating though.

Thanks Claret. We've checked today and all is well, there were two poos like that yesterday probably from the same hen but we can't be sure. We'll keep an eye open though.
