barnevelder or jersey giant SORTED!!

Recommended Posts

We have Barnevelders from Wernlas (altho Tikka is now happily free-ranging in a better place). They are very happy birds, quite big, beautifully marked, potter around the garden in an elegant way. They lay big brown eggs which I would describe as terracotta coloured with lovely golden yolks. I have no experience of the JG but from what I have read, I think they (JGs) are much bigger birds.

I have a Barnevelder called Bobbie and she has laid lovely brown eggs all through the winter. 4 - 5 a week most weeks which is very good for a pure breed as most of them don't lay in the Winter.

She has gorgeous dark brown double laced plumage, soft and glossy, she is very tame but doesn't like being picked up although she will jump on my knee for a cuddle. :D

Very hardy, and long lived birds, chatty and lovely. My special chook (apart from my other one that is  )

nope  Am doing it in the morning :D:D Was wrestling with the cost as they are the most expensive i've found  However, I am weighing it up...... as it's soooo much better to get them all at the same time from the same person and only doing one lot of intros :D:D

So it's first thing in the morning.... or as soon as they are open, or I am back from picking up my new glasses

They did say June ish initially but sounds ages away :?:? But my lovely OH has to build our new walk in run first and i've to find a home for them during the intros.....
