Ain't Nobody Here
In 18 months I've never seen a fox within sight of our girls. That changed this morning when I saw one loping across the field that joins the bottom of our garden . At least I've had some warning, there have been so many sad stories of fox attacks recently I feel lucky to have seen it first.
Chickvic
Good job you spotted it, these attacks can happen so quickly.

Seagazer
Its horrible isn't it. I just don't feel safe with the girls out. If I do have them out then I have Cookie on guard with me as well so if I get distracted by the one of the girls I know Cookie will have a go at the fox. They are literally out for about 10 minutes each day because of the cold and I feel so bad about it Better that than a dead chicken though I suppose. The fox round here just sat watching me this morning in my neighbours drive. Cookie hadn't seen him. He then crossed the road and watched me from the other side. Its almost as if he's stalking me...... He is a beautiful thing but I'd rather he wasn't around.

Electricbarbarella
thank goodness you saw it, I have decided to keep my girls in the run until the ground is better as I guess the foxes are getting a bit desperate right now.
hanson
Very scary - you get a horrile knotted feeling in the pit of your stomach when you see them! I haven't seen a fox since the dark nights and assumed they were not around so much. How wrong was I when my darlings got a bit of a scare the other week Thankfully they were both okay but it goes to show they're always around....
