Winged hearts

Recommended Posts

Yep. Big burnt fimo lumps. Oopsie!

These are quite easy to make.

Mangle your fimo into a lump and pound it flat (sticking it on a radiator for 10 mins makes it more pliable) then use a cookie cutter to cut it out, make a flat hole with a small knife in either side, and make a wing from tin foil. I used the bottoms of take away containers (you can buy them new and unused in supermarkets) and etched half moons in them with a fork prong for feather marks. Then stick the wings in the holes, bradawl a hole through the dip between the mounds at the top of the heart, ensuring the hole goes through the back of the heart, then when they've been baked at the RIGHT temperature, stick some silver string through the hole and there you go.

Arf. Remember with fimo, it's 230 degrees FAHRENHEIT not centigrade. Or else you end up with a black puffed heart the first time. Oops!

(edit: double 'f' in 'puffed'. Oops)

:oops::oops: I too made that mistake. Unfortunatly it was for ED birthday party bags (little snail magnets, as she loves snails). They went in beautiful, but came out all black and melted  I will never make that mistake again.
