BeckyBoo
....has anyone been watching this? I haven't caught them all (sorry if there's already a thread on this, I've missed it if there is ) but WOW what a programme! I'd pay my licence fee just for this. I'm not religious, well, I don't think there's a name for what I believe, but Peter Owen Jones is just amazing, and he really manages to convey the essence of the spirituality in EVERY faith he explores. He's like a HFW of the religious world! Stunning locations, amazing people, incredible rituals and beliefs I've checked the website but I can't see if they're releasing it on DVD or anything, I really hope they are, I think I will have to put it on my birthday list if they do! Redwing
Yes, it is very good isn't it? When a presenter really gets in to their subject matter it makes for really good TV
Snowy
I've missed a few, but the ones I've seen have been really informative and fascinating. He presents things in a very balanced and unjudgemental way doesn't he?
BeckyBoo
I think he's great, better than HFW dare I say it, I mean I know it's completely different disciplines, but he appeals more, doesn't seem to have become so "commercialised" as HFW. He seems to love ALL religion and humanity so very much. I thought he was very inspiring. Can I just say that I started looking for the DVD series and it seems it's not out, yet. But he's written quite a few books, so I thought I'd have a look on Amazon. The one I was particularly interested in is called, Bed of Nails, but it's out of print, I thought I'd found a copy and was about to order it when I saw it cost £136!!! Needless to say I went to the library today and reserved it (got a long wait, there's two in front of me ) mind you, if it's that good I'll photocopy all the pages! craftyhunnypie
I bet this program is better than any schools R.E lessons! I hated them with not being religious at all - but I'd like to see this program as fascinated by different bliefs & rituals. I think Buddhism is a religion I could follow as it is more about believing in yourself & you can still drink. Emma.x
